Search "wellness clinic near me" and you'll get a little of everything back: cosmetic med spas, IV lounges, hormone clinics, glow bars. They all use the word "wellness." Very few of them explain what that word actually means, or who is overseeing your care. We think you deserve to know the difference before you book anything — including with us.
Medical wellness starts with a clinician, not a menu
At its core, medical wellness is healthcare that focuses on how you function day to day — energy, sleep, hormones, metabolism, body composition — rather than waiting for something to become a diagnosable problem. The defining feature isn't the services on the price list. It's who is making the recommendation. A legitimate medical wellness visit is overseen by a licensed clinician — a nurse practitioner or physician — who reviews your history and, where appropriate, your labs before suggesting anything.
How that's different from a med spa
Med spas are wonderful at what they do: injectables, skin treatments, cosmetic procedures, usually performed or supervised by a nurse injector. That's a real and valuable service. Medical wellness care is a different lane — it's less about a single treatment and more about your whole system: why your energy has been low, why your labs look the way they do, what's actually driving how you feel. Both have their place. The confusion happens when the two get marketed as the same thing.
Our approach
We built ReNova around one rule: we only recommend what your labs and your goals actually support. No treatment plan is built around a package you didn't ask for, and no visit ends with pressure to decide something on the spot. If a service isn't going to move the needle for you, we'll say so — even if that means recommending nothing at all today.
Our Promise, In Practice
- 1Your labs drive your plan. Recommendations are built from your assessment, not a services menu.
- 2No pressure, ever. You'll never be pushed into a package or membership to "lock in" a price.
- 3Plain explanations. We'll tell you the why behind every recommendation, in language that isn't clinical jargon.
What to expect at a first visit
A first visit is mostly conversation: your history, your goals, what "feeling well" would actually look like for you. From there, we may recommend baseline labs so any plan is built on real data rather than guesswork. You'll leave with a clear explanation of what we found and what, if anything, we'd recommend next — with no obligation to decide that day.
